Where I Go to the Dentist

I went to the dentist on Tuesday and they started work for 3 crowns. Oh, my mouth was sore. I grieved for the loss of my teeth transformed with drilling and tooth bits flying about the air into stinky little posts. They put the temporary crowns in, all 3 in a row. I’ve been rinsing with salt water, bought an antibacterial mouthwash called Peroxyl yesterday, popping ibuprophen like crazy and eating oatmeal and cream of wheat. Maybe I’ll lose some weight too.

I go back on Jan 8 to get the permanent crowns put in. I sure hope my gums are all healed up by then. I looked on the internet and there were all sorts of dire stories about how if your gums haven’t healed by the time the permanent crowns are ready you either get the temporary crowns pried up, everything mushed around again and the healing process gets another chance to complete or you get a root canal.

Anyway, it feels loads better than it did 3 days ago.

Oooh yeah I know how you're feeling - I had six put in a couple of years ago and DID NOT enjoy the dentist taking out the temporary crowns to put the 'real' ones in. Better than having bad teeth tho'
