Twits

Shoot. I should go into casting spells. Some yahoo went and lifted almost the entire front page of my website and republished it to their blog. I left a comment saying if anybody wanted to visit the REAL website they should come see me at www.TalkingToSpirit.com Twits.

Then, I returned to my web statistics to see what else was going on. Bunch of folks directly linking to images I’ve got. Looking around on the internet to see what other people had to say about it I found one guy who suggested swapping out the image being stolen with an image that says, “This webmaster is STEALING bandwidth”. He said some people curse and put up porno pictures, but he didn’t figure that was all that professional. I tend to agree with him. Twits.

AT&T or SBC or PacBell Booooooooo!

Well, this is where I vent, right? Okay, so I’m thinking about how far a little bit of bad press goes. Very, very far. And, in this case I would like to talk about AT&T…formerly SBC…formerly PacBell. All these years we’ve had the same service with them for DSL. It wasn’t very stable in the early days. It got better as time went on. But, lately it tanked. It went right down the toilet in a very big way.

We have not have DSL since before Thanksgiving. I’m using the old fashioned dial up service and paying DSL prices for it. I just called them to find out how much it would cost if we maintained our current email addresses and changed our service from DSL to dialup….from over $50 a month to $15.95.

Now, interestingly, we just committed to paying $19 a month for 6 months for a broadband connection with Comcast. After that it’s going to go to their normal price which, I think, is probably slightly less than what we’re paying now for really slow internet connection via AT&T which doesn't work anymore. We’ve already got television with Comcast and love it. Now, we’ll have high speed internet too. For a little bit more than the price of dial up with AT&T. We’re waiting on the modem. I’ve already got a cable. I’ll need some help stapling it into the corners of the wall going from the television, across the room to where DeeDude’s computer and the router is.

And, it should work.

But, the question is, do we stick with the old email addresses and use Comcast for our access to the internet…or, do we make the switch completely?

In any case, I’ll decide as time goes on. It’s going to impact me more right now because I’ve got a case of the ass against AT&T. DeeDude is much calmer about it and doesn’t really care one way or another.

You know what really burns me up? In all the conversations I’ve had with people at AT&T…formerly SBC…formerly PacBell not a single one of them ever said, “I’m sorry.” Not one. How much does it cost somebody to say, “I’m sorry”? If one of those people had said that to me I wouldn’t be here now venting about them.

I suppose that’s the beauty of the internet that it gives a regular person like myself some feeling of control. So, I will upload this and somebody else who has had a problem with AT&T, or SBC, or PacBell might come upon this little entry someday and be more interested in what I have to say than the folks who work for AT&T, or SBC, or PacBell.

I'm Still Mad

Using a 56K modem sucks. I don’t know how people enjoy the internet. Maybe they turn off the pictures. Anyway, our SBC/AT&T DSL is still not working. We still don’t have Comcast hooked up and are waiting for their modem to come.

In the meantime our cat hating neighbor is again seeking to cause problems for us. The last she confronted me I told her to either call the police or get a lawyer. This time she went to our landlady. We told our landlady that we are not the only people in the neighborhood who have cats. Also, we told her that the cat hating neighbor and I have been on the outs for the last 3 years. This is her way of getting back at us, a parting shot before she leaves. She is rousing the neighborhood to be against us. 33 years old and still lives at home. I have no regard for her. One of the guides asked me, “You want me to smite her?” I laughed and said, “Please.”

Where The Universe Says, "Get Cable"

Crap. This is my blog to vent in and I'm going to say poopy words if I want to. Stupid AT&T or whatever the hell name they go by these days. I've had it with their service outages. This is where the universe lets us know to go to Comcast Cable. Which we will do at the earliest opportunity.

AT&T....started out as PacBell...then, went to SBC...now, it's AT&T again. They charge us triple what they charge new customers for 3 times as slow a connection...all because we have the old copper wires. And, to upgrade? Well, the kind customer service rep told me once that they would have to cut off our Internet connection for two weeks while at least two teams of people came through to give us the new fiber optic lines. Yeah, right. Like I can take off time from work to wait for them.

Anyway, I'm really mad now and I anticipate having a totally new email address by Christmas. Something I did NOT want to do until we moved, but this just really sucks. Right before a big holiday and the Internet goes down.

By the way, I'm hooked up using the old dial up feature, which, at least, still works.

Bye Bye Pac Bell!!!!

Note: After work I got home and we still did not have our DSL service. So, I signed us up for Comcast. The modem is coming. The special is $19 a month for 6 months. No contract. No commitment. A free Modem (after rebate) and a refund of $100 somewhere along the line. It's almost as though they are paying us for using their service. What a switch is that from the phone company?

And on the plus side? Maybe the spam will stop. A guide just said, "Maybe the sun won't rise again either." LOL

Higher Self Lessons

I wonder if when you are pushing yourself to do something, anything, that the other stuff you’re not consciously thinking about has to follow along.

For instance, there are two things that I’m currently working on. One, the losing weight thing, is something that has been on my mind since I was 12. I have only actually lost weight on 3 occasions, though. Once, when I was sick with mono as a teenager and I lost 18 pounds in 2 weeks. Another time, as a young adult when I lost 75 pounds with a low carb diet that yo-yo’ed to completion after a year, and shortly after I began channeling when I asked my guide for help and I lost 50 pounds.

Now, I’m losing weight again, though, it is a very, very slow process. It is, probably, the most healthy approach to losing weight that I have tried yet. Basically, it is eating healthy things, turning away from the evil, sugary and fat soaked things (mostly), trying not to eat after dinner and doing it very, very slowly. We’re talking a pound a week. If that.

The other thing I’m working on is writing this month. So far, two days have wound up in the toilet. Yesterday was one of them where I didn’t do any writing.

Added to this mix was the Boil. This has been a pain in the back for over a week. At least, like the guides said, it hasn’t been a pain in the butt. It is finally healing.

So, the pressure is on. Can she take it? I don’t know.

I had 3 screaming nightmares night before last. I was able to remember one of them, the first one, where my husband and the twit teenager kid downstairs were duking it out. That’s when I screamed in the dream for the kid’s mother to come and intervene. Not like she can really do anything. Last night the twit was working in their garage at 9:00 PM roaring along with some sort of automotive machinery. It filled the neighborhood with noise. It roared over the television program (Cops) we were watching. I went outside to investigate. Stupid twit. I went back inside and advised DeeDude not to go anywhere or do anything based upon the screaming nightmare I’d had the night before.

But, I couldn’t remember the other two nightmares. Until this morning.

The second of the nightmares involved me getting another boil. This one, however, was within reach of my own doctoring, unlike the other one where I’ve had to rely upon DeeDude’s excellent medical attentions upon my person all week. That’s why I screamed. Another boil.

Oh, and day before yesterday I also screamed at a State Farm lady. Like she had anything to do with what I was screaming about. She was just a figure head. Like I’m a figure head when I’m at work. I just sit there and answer the phone and it’s pot luck who’s on the other end. Could be a whiney person. Could be an angry person. Very rarely is it anything remotely pleasant.

What the (bleeped out though an excellent word for how I feel) is the universe trying to teach me here? What, dear Higher Self, am I supposed to come away from these most excellent lessons with?

Must remember our Higher Selves will never ask us to do anything we can’t handle. Must remember and keep uppermost in my mind that Friday approaches and next week I’ve got 2 days off for Thanksgiving. Must remember that whatever work I do with NaNoWriMo is good and will benefit me in the long run. I can take a day out to write on my newsletter for December and all will be well with that.

What’s the deal with me and pressure?

On the plus side I’ve been at my job 17 years. That counts for something. That means I can act responsibility and with an awesome office presence that these young whipper snappers just don’t have (don’t chew gum when you are in the office and are responsible for answering the phones). I don’t often lose it like I did with the State Farm lady.

Maybe, I just needed to let off some steam. Perhaps, this entry belongs more appropriately in the Rants and Vents section of my repertoire of blogs. Yeah, the guides are all nodding their heads…a bunch of them actually.

Crappy Drivers

This site might get more action from me than I had at first thought it might. Currently, I am making a more than half-hearted attempt to lose weight and I’ve also signed up for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). My back is killing me and although I’m not in a pissy mood, if things keep up I’m likely to visit that little corner of my heart more often.

The other day I again considered creating a spell for crappy drivers. It does need to rhyme in order for it to work. I don’t want to wish anything more on them than a really bad case of the runs once they get out of their cars and stand up. That would satisfy me. I don’t think it would attract that much karmic action….would it? Anyway, something I’ve been considering for crappy drivers.

I Can't Read That

Okay, I want to speak out for a moment for older bloggers. And, older isn’t necessarily as old as you might think. In your 40’s your eyes will begin the journey back to the womb. Means you can’t see so good anymore. You’ll need glasses. What was once easy to read close up now has to rest on the floor while you peer at the page from your vantage point 4 or 5 feet away. That’s when you go get some reading glasses at the drug store. Eventually you make your way to the doctor for some “real” glasses. And, eventually you move to bifocals. Me? I’ve got trifocals. Distance, close up and computer.

And, if I can’t read your blog….I can’t read your blog. Make the print larger. Make it stand out. Make it easy to read. End of rant.

Where the Psychic Vents The First Time

Being a psychic doesn’t always help. Normally I don’t rant…but, I just have to tonight.

I’ve got a war going on with a neighbor and with the kid who lives downstairs. I keep hoping they will both move away.

The neighbor lives with her parents and she’s close to 30 years old. I don’t think she’s going to be moving any time soon. She’s a leech. The problem is that she does not like animals and complains of our cats peeing under her window. She says the smell keeps her awake at night. She also complains of the neighbor on her other side who is disabled and has a dog. This 30 something asshole complains that the dog also urinates under her window. She has already called the city who came out and decided that she was wrong in her thinking and that things didn’t smell bad like she said.

She refuses to speak to me as I refuse to speak to her and so the neighbor between us gets stuck as the go-between. He has to pass on her nasty little messages to me. That pisses me off too. What she refuses to acknowledge is that cats are independent creatures and as such pretty much refuse to stay inside all the time. We are also not the only people who have cats in the neighborhood. But, she’s focusing her attention on our cats. I’ve been having a war with our own cats trying to make them stay inside when they do not want to stay inside. I also have a kitty litter box outside on the patio and have had this litter box out there for a number of years. It gets used and we empty it at least twice a day. No reason why the cats don’t use it. They do.

What I need to do is just sit back and ignore her. I cannot change the fact that she is an asshole and will likely remain an asshole well into her 70’s. She’s also likely to never move from that location. So, me wishing that she’d just leave isn’t going to help matters either.

I just have to learn how to let her be her asshole self. Then I have to learn how not to let her bother me. But, for now I feel like venting.

Then, the other problem is the kid downstairs who is my landlord and landlady’s son. I think he’ll be turning 21 in January, but he, too, is a leech and a user. And, I screamed at him bloody murder and his friends last March. I have not spoken nor made eye contact with him since then. They threatened to beat me up. I threatened to tell his parents and call the cops while he and his buds had a major home alone party that lasted 3 weeks while his folks were gone to China. I never did tell his parents nor did I call the cops. But, I think he’s turned into a major juvenile delinquent. He and his friends rev their engines and work on their cars down in the driveway. Then they crank up the music until my heart pounds and I think I’m going to have a stroke. I wonder if there’s a law against people working on their cars at home and not in an authorized repair shop. I know there’s a law against dumping oil. Wait…he dumped some behind the fence. I could turn his butt in for that.

This is tearing me up inside. I just want to leave, but we cannot leave. We’ve got a honey of a deal with the rent here and there’s nowhere we can move to in this city where we’d be able to pay the same and have our 4 cats and 2 parakeets.

I am at my wits end here.

If like Byron Katie says I can’t fight reality and must accept this shit as it is and believe that it’s the best thing that could be happening right now…I could chew nails. Anyway, I’m still on chapter one and am really super inspired to keep reading. Because this is horrible.
